  • Horse Tracks: Vance Joseph looking forward to joint practices

with Chicago Bears Good morning http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.c...ey-roby-jersey , Broncos Country. The Chicago Bears are looking forward to the opportunity of having joint practices with the Denver Broncos the next two days in preparation for Saturday’s game — and it’s safe to say the feeling is mutual. Through the course of OTA’s and training camp, each team has gotten familiar with what is going on with their squad internally. But sometimes a change of pace is most welcomed and both franchises are anxious at the prospect of having the opportunity to practice against one another. Head Coach Vance Joseph is excited to have his team compete against the Bears today and Thursday. Moreover he knows it will be beneficial for the players involved, as well as the evaluation process of them.“Obviously, schematically, it’s a different scheme. You watch our defense now versus our offense, our defense has seen these plays for almost three weeks now. It’s easy for them,” stated Joseph. “To see a different scheme, to play against a different body type, that’s going to be huge for our team as far as schematics and for evaluation of our team. It’s going to be huge,” he added. While the joint practices will give each team a great opportunity to game plan for Saturday as well as evaluate their players Authentic Bradley Chubb Jersey , there is one thing Joseph and Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy are hoping to avoid in the sessions: fights — which have been a common occurrence across the league during training camp and preseason.“We’ve talked several times about the structure of practice, obviously, and the temperament of practice. We want to have great work in the next two days. Obviously you watch the news, a bunch of fighting is occurring in most practices, remarked Joseph. “We don’t want that. Let’s get good work on both sides of the ball, be good professionals and not fight. It’s as simple as that—not fight.”It’ll be great to see how the Broncos fare against the Bears in the joint practice sessions and be able to see if any past training camp trends continue through the next few days. Will Chad Kelly perform strongly against the Bears’ second unit? Will rookie wide receiver Courtland Sutton continue to impress and give Chicago’s defensive backs fits? How will the Broncos’ young pass rushers fair against the opposing offensive line? These are just some things to look out for the next few days — and feel free to share what you are looking forward to most out of these joint practices in the comments section. As always, thank you for reading and here is today’s offering of Horse Tracks.Horse TracksBroncos are counting on Jeff Heuerman to produceThe Broncos’ initial preseason depth chart dropped last week and the collective outside reaction over the tight end hierarchy was summed up in a single word: “Why?”Paxton Lynch is mad after Broncos bury himPaxton Lynch wants to know what he did. Ryan Edwards started off the conversation noticing how much Emmanuel was smiling and asking how much fun training camp has been for him:“You know it’s been fun, it’s been fun. Having a new quarterback man that’s everything. And the first year really in Bill Musgraves’ system and understanding...I’m enjoying that whole process of changing, of understanding, and having a quarterback who knows where to go with the ball.”He also said they have been just “busting their butts” and working hard to try to get back to the playoffs and back to a Super Bowl. The entire interview was a great listen. I encourage you to check out the whole thing. Here are some of my key takeaways:Sanders is impressed by these rookies. He said he’s calling it now that Courtland Sutton can be the offensive rookie of the year based on the touchdowns he could have in the red zone. “I don’t see many guys that can body him out of the way, and he can go up and get it.”He mentioned he has also been impressed by their work ethic and the way they have approached the game. “Guys like that (Sutton and Hamilton) last a long time in this league because they understand their role.”On the flip side, he straight up called out the guys from last year. “Last year’s rookies, I don’t care http://www.denverbroncosteamonline.c...mcmanus-jersey , they weren’t all that good as rookies, you tell those guys to do something and they want to complain. I’m like ‘dude’, I came into the league with Hines Ward and all these guys, if I would’ve told them ‘no’ they would’ve thrown me in the cold tub or something.”Sanders really believes in Case Keenum and thinks he can be great. He says he’s already seen Case be great in college and he just needs to continue to tap into that to carry the momentum from last year.Lookout for the Sanders/Keenum connection. While Keenum has spread the ball around nicely all camp, he seems to have found a special chemistry with Emmanuel Sanders, which should get Broncos fans excited. No wonder Sanders is excited when Case is dropping dimes like that into his hands. I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do together (along with the rest of the receiving corps) this year.Final note: If you listen to nothing else, scrub to the 8:45 mark and listen to what Sanders has to say about Demaryius Thomas. He has some great words and, it’s obvious, tremendous respect for DT as “one of the greatest receivers in Broncos history. It’s really cool.
